Boo! Things I have bought during my "spending hiatus":

 

COFFEE on occasion, though I have bent the rules to account for this.

While I do not feel like a complete success, I do consider this venture a really positive exercise, and plan to repeat it more than once a year.  The baking tools were something I needed for future baking, and the shorts ended up being just about 50% off during the annual REI member sale.  I wore them out the store and all weekend long in Joshua Tree.  

I do have a list of things I plan to buy this weekend, after my hiatus is over this Thursday (April 1st).

Mainstream vs. Custom

It's great that you can get a rather customized ride for a pretty reasonable price these days.  Currently, we are all about the micro-macro.  One of these would also be good to have:

Big Baby Lep

Marissa Mayer, radical bassist, onetime vocalist, and creative of art-rock performance collective Jennifer The Leopard's little sister is performing this weekend at the Adrienne Arsht Center for Performing Arts, in our hometown of Miami, Florida.  Mayer's experimental theater work Mrs Ms addresses feminist issues in a one-woman show, turned-semi-chorus line.  

You can read a short review in the Miami Herald, and view her website at jillianmayer.net, but this will definitely not be the last you hear of this Ms. Mayer.
